Editorial: Welcome to the ‘Bourbon Capital of the World’
Welcome to the Kentucky Bourbon Festival. One of Kentucky’s premier festivals and Bardstown’s signature event dedicated to celebrating all things bourbon. This is the silver anniversary of what started as one black-tie event held at My Old Kentucky Home State Park in 1992 that has now grown to a seven-day, jam-packed celebration of “America’s Official Native Spirit” — bourbon.
As you visit our quaint small town, you’ll see and feel the local pride, passion and dedication that we have when it comes to our bourbon. It’s not just a drink. It’s a way of life for most of us, seeped in rich traditions and heritage. For more than two centuries, families in central Kentucky have carried on the traditions of distilling bourbon by passing down the art from one generation to the next.
