The following drink recipe is the winner of the 2006 Mixed Drink Challenge (Official Drink Contest). This will be our "Official Drink for 2007!"

Fashionable Manhattan

Place 3 dashes of Angosturo bitters and one wedge each of lime, lemon, and orange into a cocktail glass.  Thoroughly macerate the fruit in the bitters until the inside of the glass is completely covered with bitters and fruit oils.  Discard the fruit wedges and excess bitters from the glass and set in aside.  Place 4 parts Kentucky Bourbon and one part Carpano Sweet Vermouth into a Boston shaker with ice.  Shake vigorously for 45 seconds to one minute and strain the contents into the cocktail glass.  Break one maraschino cherry into the glass.  Scrape a bar spoon around on the inside of the cocktail glass to release the bitters and fruit oils from the glass and stir briefly.  Serve immediately.
