Sunday, September 22, 2013, marked the close of the 22nd annual Kentucky Bourbon Festival. The 11th annual Mixed Drink Challenge, sponsored by the Nelson County Hospitality Association, was held on Wednesday of the Festival week at the Best Western General Nelson, Carriage House. Area restaurants and bars competed in an open division of the competition while Kentucky Bourbon distilleries concocted their rendition of the specialty drink in a second division.
2 oz. Bourbon
½ oz Lemon Juice
½ oz. Cointreau
2 oz. Apple Cider
2 oz. Fresh Strawberry Simple Syrup
Shaken and strain garnish with fresh strawberries serve in a Martini glass.
